3.0 out of 5 stars Many torn gloves in my Medium Box
I loved the way the Medium gloves fit me over the large ones but noticed that this must have been "old stock" or something because several of them tore right out of the box and were brittle.

I am going to try another brand next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for organic chemistry lab!, August 5, 2008
This review is from: Advanced Tool Design Model ATD-6997 Medium Blue Powder-Free, Fully Textured Nitrile Gloves, 100/box (Automotive)
I used these gloves during my organic chemistry lab. They were required because dichloromethane isn't absorbed. They never tore, nor did any chemicals we used get through them.

The wife loves these Nitrile gloves for everday use and for use in the garden. She has small hands but we ordered the medium gloves and they fit well enough on her....not tight. I ordered three boxes to qualify for the free shipping and they came fast...within 4 days I think. I would order them again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beyond "not sterile"..., June 30, 2010

I ordered a box each of large and medium gloves because they are available directly from Amazon (Prime-eligible). I did realize when ordering them that they were shop gloves and not sterile exam gloves (and the reviews for the large gloves do mention this repeatedly). What I wasn't expecting was for about 80% of the gloves in each box to be contaminated with an unknown black substance, and for a smaller but significant fraction to be torn! It's one thing for the outer surface to not be sterile - but (1) how do I know what the black substance is and whether it is bad for whatever I'm touching, and (2) how do I know it isn't contaminated on the inside as well? (Hint: not all contaminants need to be visible to be bad for you or for equipment.) The gloves seem fine from a thickness and mechanical design point of view, but if some gloves are visibly torn, how am I supposed to trust that the remainder don't have small tears or weak areas that are about to tear?

I was scared off by the other reviews, but with free super shipping, I had to try them. Well, I have not tried the entire box, but the first 4 gloves I pulled out seemed strong and plenty elastic. I even dug my finger nail in and stretched the palm. No problems. I have not put them to use, so I can't say for sure, but they are definitely not as bad as the other reviewers said.

And I bought some clear gloves at Walgreens a while ago. Those ones were OK, but I was able to rip them with palm test. I don't know where to buy gloves locally, and got exasperated searching Walmart, so I'm glad I can get these on Amazon.

Cheap, easy to put on and take off. I use these to keep my hands clean while working on my bike chain and they're great.

They don't cover very much of the arm, but that hasn't been an issue for my uses.

I use thes for working on our cars to help keep my hands clean. The nitrile gloves are very good for working around automotive oils and fuel,so far they haven't fallen apart on me for what I've put them in.

The Gloves are very useful for dirty tasks and don't leave the powdery residue that others do. I've used them on car work, rv work, and general cleaning. They fit perfect and are very strong. The blue color is a plus as well. No cons yet, it would be nice if they were a little cheaper.
