Not what I expected, but they are good,

So I might have been a bit quick when I bought these as they are not quite what I was looking for: they are not sterile. But other than that, I have put them to use in some cleaning projects and I have never had one rip on me, so I guess that makes them better than most gloves I have used int he past...

I ordered a box each of large and medium gloves because they are available directly from Amazon (Prime-eligible). I did realize when ordering them that they were shop gloves and not sterile exam gloves (and the reviews for the large gloves do mention this repeatedly). What I wasn't expecting was for about 80% of the gloves in each box to be contaminated with an unknown black substance, and for a smaller but significant fraction to be torn! It's one thing for the outer surface to not be sterile - but (1) how do I know what the black substance is and whether it is bad for whatever I'm touching, and (2) how do I know it isn't contaminated on the inside as well? (Hint: not all contaminants need to be visible to be bad for you or for equipment.) The gloves seem fine from a thickness and mechanical design point of view, but if some gloves are visibly torn, how am I supposed to trust that the remainder don't have small tears or weak areas that are about to tear?

They Call Me the GLOVE Doctor,

Halloween is just around the next shadowy blood-spattered corner, and I had no costume. The calendar bent me over, "werewolf-style", and I was running out of time to get my witching season freak on. Also, I was *hauntingly* close to broke, and didn't have a lot of scratch to spend on my holiday outfit. So I settled for what I could get, like a vampire in the Ocean Spray aisle.I could've spent a fortune dressing up like a doctor -- lab coat, stethoscope, golf clubs, malpractice lawyer. But what really defines a physician? What one accessory screams out "hey, doc!" like no other, for pennies on the dollar? The exam gloves. You walk around with a pair of these puppies on, and it doesn't matter what else you're wearing -- people just ASSUME "doctor". Or mad scientist, I suppose. Or these days, TSA screener. So I went the extra mile, to make sure my implied costume was unmistakable: I only wear ONE glove. And there's nobody -- but nobody -- on the planet who wears just one rubber glove, save for a very... particular sort of doctor. It's a brilliant costume. It cost next to nothing. And no one fights me for potato chips at the snack table at Halloween parties. This may well be the PERFECT costume. Moon River, baby. Moon. River.
