The Advanced Algebra DVDs were my second set of DVDS from Jason Gibson / MathTutorDVDs. For those of you not familiar with Mr. Gibson's style and credentials, please see his website at www.mathtutordvd.com. Not only he qualified to instruct in these materials, he is VERY good at it! Simple, easy-to-understand lectures with PLENTY of examples. In fact, his method is totally "learn-by-example". These lectures simplified and made easy to learn some very complex subject matter, and it enabled me (after not having taken an algebra class for over 20 years) to get an A in my class! I was happy, more intelligent, and VERY THANKFUL! Thank you Jason, again, for your incredible instructional DVDs. They ROCK!!!

The Advanced Algebra Tutor is the most detailed video course I have used. Being short on time and long on coursework for my degree I used this video to prepare the CLEP test of College Algebra. In just 1 week of watching the video I took the test. The material Jason covered in the video was everything for the course of a semester of College Algebra so I was able to ace the test and earn course credit in a short period of time.

The only reason this product didn't get a 5 star rating is because i felt it could have been a bit more in-depth about why certain processes worked the way they did. That said, the descriptions and examples of the processes and examples themselves were extremely easy to understand, and the examples were repeated enough to grasp the nature of the subject. However, it would be impossible to understand what was going on without a solid foundation of elementary algebra, so this DVD would be useless without being familiar with the basic concepts. I haven't seen the beginner algebra DVD by this same company, but if it is anything like this one it should suffice.
