This book is GOLD to all bass fisherman!, March 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Advanced Bass Fishing (The Freshwater Angler) (Hardcover)
Advanced Bass Fishing is the one book you'll keep going back to! It's full of tricks that will add some fish to your otherwise empty live well. Stuff like how to weight minnow plugs to suspend & to sand down poppers to make them spit and skip better. Also to turn your buzzbaits into squeaking, clicking, clacking, bubbling dinnerbells! And things such as the correct way to de-gas deepwater largemouth.
They chose a different pro angler for each technique, then let the pro demonstrate it on a lake of their choice. The book then tells you all of the specifics, best weather, season, and time of day to use the technique. The suggested rod length, action and lb. test of line, when they are factors. Another great thing is that since is wasn't created by a fishing company, there is no bias and no product pushing.
The book isn't to general making it pefect for the amateur or pro tornament fisherman looking for an edge as well as a beginner seeking info beyond the basics.
This book shouldn't be missing from any bass anglers shelves!
Good Luck and great fishing. N.B.

Sternberg Tells Us How to Fish Bass, August 6, 2011
Buy the Sternberg books in the Hunting and Fishing Library if you want to learn how to fish. There are numerous and beautiful photographs and illustrations of all the lures and bait to use and where to fish. I just bought 3 more of this favorite for my eldest grandsons.

Sternberg is Always Great, September 30, 2009
This review is from: Advanced Bass Fishing (The Freshwater Angler) (Hardcover)
I have all but a few of Dick Sternberg's books. They are all well illustrated and very informative. The photography is amazing at times. I have read these books since the early 1990s. Now my 14 grandchildren read them with a great deal of interest when we are at our lake home. They often ask "Grandpa, can I take this book home and return it on our next visit to the lake?" Interest is really generated when the child reads the book to his/her ability and then asks "Grandpa, can you take me out so I can catch a Northern Pike?" My grandson Nick asked me that, we hopped in the boat, and he caught a 33 inch pike after only 30 minutes. He said "That book was great." I said "Nick, this doesn't happen all the time."
