This is a sequel to Raymond Buckland's "Practical Candleburning Rituals" and I think it is actually better than the first. There are more advanced and detailed (hence the title) rituals/spells, and contains many different ones that weren't covered in the first book. There is also an extensive correspondence table section in the back which covers many different aspects, from colors, gemstones, days, astrological signs, substitutions for herbs that can be used, etc. This is definately a worthwhile book to have if you want to do any sort of candle magick or spells, plus it's not complicated or difficult to understand. It's even written to be usable for those who are not of Pagan/Wiccan faith, as the incantations are written twice, one with a Pagan/Wiccan theme and one with a Biblical theme. It even goes into preparing for the spells, with timing and such. Overall one of the best candle magick books out there, I refer to mine often.

This book provides practical spells for everyday living, and gives sound advice on where anyone can find the tools and herbs necessary to cast spells. Though spell-casting is not easy, Buckland provides a concrete, step-by-step handbook of "how to" for the reader. A must read for those who are interested in making candle magick a part of daily life.

Once again Raymond Buckland has produced a book on magickal practice that is easy to read, contains step by step instructions and stays true to positive magickal principles. "Advanced Candle Magick" is a wonderful resorurce for introductory work in candle magick. For the serious occult student, new practicioner of Wicca, or the curious, this is the book that explains just how candle magick works, why it works and how it can improve the practitioners and others lives. Buy it for yourself or a learning freind.

Raymond Buckland's gift as a teacher and author is his ability to bring the esoteric down to earth. His first book, "Practical Candleburning Rituals", brought the folk art of candleburning magick to thousands of people in easy to understand, and easy to use format. This book takes the simple methods present in that first book and expands on them. This is not a book about Witchcraft, the religion, but rather a specific form of magick. However, Buckland equips the reader with enough ethical training and understanding of the nature of magick to be able to perform these rituals effectively and safely. The difference between this book and "Practical Candleburning Rituals" is that the rituals in this book will take more preparation and time, and will involve more expensive materials and more extensive timing preparations than those in the first book. However, as a basic introduction to the art of "High" or "Ceremonial" magick, it is highly recommended.

A truely wonderful book full of candle spells to help you through your personal problems. Another reason why this book is good, is because it provides the the knowhow on where to obtain the tools, herbs, and color of candle to use on each particular spell. I dont reccomend such a book for the unexperienced. try the 1st candle magic book first. Amazingly, every spell I've tried so far in this book has worked. Even the ones not listed in the previous title.

I love this book. I bought the two- his first candle ritual book and tried the spells with success ofcoarse. This book is advaced and offers more rituals like contacting the deceased of a loved one. Im right now gathering the required elements to contact my grandma and confers with her. Anyone who cares wish me luck and blessings.- Anthony G. Oh and buy this book!

This is a pretty good book for the beginning or early intermediate practitioner - Nothing really new for the experienced

I have many books on candle magic. This one was hard to understand and I consider myself well versed in the art of candle work. I didn't learn anything new from this book and I didn't like the spells. This is only my opinion. Check out "The Little Book of Candle Magic" by D.J. Conway. So much information in a tiny book. Or " Practical Candle Burning Rituals" by Buckland. Once again - I have nothing against this author, I just thought this particular book was not particularly informative. Blessed Be... Kari Belle

Though not quite as accommodating as his book "Practical Candle Magick," Advanced candle magick is precisely what it says: a very specific tome on precise magick leaving little room for error on the part of the practitioner upon execution or the universe upon delivery. If you are the kind that wishes to challenge your skills of visualization, focus, and memory, flex your magickal muscles and get precisely what you need, and have the time/money/skill to perform more complicated magicks, this is the book for you. I have had astounding success with the book, and highly recommend it to others who enjoy this lovely form of magick.
