This is a great book for those who have just begun digital photography, have mastered the basics, and wish to do more with their photography than just simple point and shoot. I felt this book was very helpful to me.

It's a nice looking book...but why they call this 'Advanced' I don't know. All seem very basic. More for someone who is totally unfamiliar with a camera. Far to basic to be of any real use. Nothing here that was of any real interest. Quick read. But nice pictures. LTS

Boost your photographic creativity with Advanced Digital Camera Techniques. How to fine tune composition, and use natural and artificial lighting are two topics explored to attain maximum image stimulation. Insight is also given to equipment and accessories, camera features, close ups and creating panoramas. Trying new techniques that differ from how you normally capture images is an exciting and fun adventure that this book provides.

very easy to read with good step-by-step instructions on how to replicate a huge range of different photography techniques. if you're just starting to learn about photography and have a grasp of the common terminology, this is a good book because it shows you where and how to start refining your skills.the first three chapters at the beginning of the book are very similar to what you would find in any other "intro to digital photography" book, so i just skimmed through those sections, but once you get into the middle of the book, it's great because there's a lot of simple practical application on how to take pictures in different modes and different situations, and what to be aware of. it's not very complicated or high-tech, as each technique is generally summed up in one or two paragraphs... so if you're looking for a meaty book, then you probably won't be satisfied... but if you have a short attention span, it's a great read b/c it's written in basic english without too many complicated terms. i had a lot of fun reading this book and learned more than i expected to learn, and i easily read it in one sitting. also, there are a good number of pictures to demonstrate exactly what they are describing, so if you're more of a visual person, you'll be happy.

"Advanced"??? Please!!,
By Moe Greene (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Advanced Digital Camera Techniques (Paperback)
I bought this book because I feel I've mastered the basics and was looking for a book on advanced digital photographic techniques. I figured, since this book is titled "Advanced Digital Camera Techniques" that this would be such a book. Sorry, it is not. Same old basic stuff...how to choose a digital camera, how to frame an image, blah blah. Nothing advanced here. What a crock.
