Tom Ang's books often seem to get low ratings. However, I really enjoy them. Tom writes with an information density that is really impressive. Its definately not a "breezy" style. So whether you will like his books, and this one as well, depends upon what you like to read. If you like deep intricate detail, than his books are I think the best in digital photography. This...

I was fairly disappointed with this book, I was hoping for it to concentrate more on the photography aspect rather than photo-editing techniques. It feels more like a Photoshop book with a 32 page introduction to digital cameras written for a graphic designer, not a photographer.

Tom Ang's books often seem to get low ratings. However, I really enjoy them. Tom writes with an information density that is really impressive. Its definately not a "breezy" style. So whether you will like his books, and this one as well, depends upon what you like to read. If you like deep intricate detail, than his books are I think the best in digital photography. This book has particularly impressive sections on scanning and printing.
