Only Wet MY Whistle,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Art of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Game (Paperback)
I bought this book because I have a fond memory of AD&D and wanted to see if I could dig up some more Jeff Easley Paintings. It has a ton of work here. I paged through the book remembering those days when I was a kid. I found the content in the book to be excellent. I only wish that the book was bigger so that I could get a complete Dungeons and Dragons art experience. The one thing that I really didnt like was that some of the larger pictures are done in two pages and it is hard to see because of the binding. Other than that I liked the book and am glad to have it in my collection.

Some of the best fantasy artwork...,

This review is from: The Art of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Game (Paperback)
From game books to fantasy covers, these art is some of the best from the 80's. Clyde Caldwell, Jeff Easley, Larry Elmore, Fred Fields, Keith Parkinson and many others. If you are looking for older fantasy books, pick a cover and go look for the title of the book on the internet!
Get it used or new. Well, get it used.

Great artists but mediocre book assembly,

This review is from: The Art of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Game (Paperback)
This book includes the art of Clyde Cadwell, Jeff Easley, Larry Elmore, Fred Fields, Keith Parkinson and about 10 images from less famous artists.
My only quirks with this book include: 1)It drives me nuts when the cover image isn't even shown or listed inside the book. 2)I think each image should have a full page to be displayed upon. Instead, I have found many of my favorite images crammed onto a page with 3 others. 3) A lot of the images were poorly placed and overlap the binding. Even though I have my quirks with the designers/editors, the content included makes up for it. I would recommend this to a friend without a doubt. |
