Classic, March 17, 1998

This review is from: Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual (Hardcover)
This is one of the best reference guides for role-playing to date (and they don't make 'em like this anymore). A begining to the listings of demons and devils as well as other classics like vampires are here. If you can find this, you won't be disappointed.

The grandaddy of them all MMI is The book to GET, November 1, 1997

This review is from: Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual (Hardcover)
This book might not have the best creature captions or descriptions but it has the most original and most important monsters in 1st edition AD&D. If you don't have this book you are missing out! How could you not have dragons, ogres, minotaurs, mindflayers, gnolls, goblins, skeletons, and ghosts to name a few. I mean they may not be esoteric as an aboleth but they are essential to an interesting and fun campaign. The only significant thing lacking in this book is the absence of experience points awarded for slaying said monsters. Sorry but you will have to get dungeon masters guide for that but who doesn't need DMG for AD+D. Overall you have to have this book for any kind of fun AD&D.
