Good Reference Guide,

This book does provide students, who have taken a first course in differential equations, a good look at Fourier Analysis, Boundary Value Problems, and partial differential equations; however, you might wish to obtain a working knowledge of linear algebra before using this book for the before-mentioned reasons - the chapters dealing with linear algebra (six and seven) are awesome for review, but horrible for the beginning student. Other than that, the book is a good resource when it comes to the review chapters on ordinary differential equations, multivariable calculus, probability, etc... This is a recommended book for the engineer who likes to review math on those boring summer days...

This book have introduced me in a step by step understanding of advanced topics in maths. The guide for solving problems and the analytical explanation for solutions, make of this book a perfect one for undergraduate level students with a solid base of math and knowledge on the basic of Fourier, diferential equations and complex functions.The book starts like a plane flying over a city and you can see everything and have a general idea on how it looks like. As it advance you can see and solve problems in detail on every topic. I really consider this book as a guide for problem solving and perfect for university students.

The Student's Solutions Manual for Advanced Engineering Mathematics offers very little assistance for those actually trying to learn the material. The quality of the examples varies, but they are vague in general. Furthermore, there are key chapters with only a few solutions given, which are typically the simplest problems. The manual is helpful with certain chapters, especially since the book lacks good example problems. However, it is not a reliable aid for every topic covered in the text.
