modern Enochian
This book shows a lot of influences outside of Enochian that Schueler incorported, such as Blavatsky's Theosophy, Crowley inspired texts (i.e. Liber Al, liber VII). A high light of this book is that most chapters open up with an interesting quote from one of the occult dignitaries of yesteryear. Thank IAD BALT it is out of print!
Truly a terrible book. The information is either pulled straight out of other books, and full of errors, or Schueler is on some flight of fancy that has nothing to do with Enochian. After reading this book, it is apparent that he does not practice Enochian Magick at all. Even for Llewellyn, which is famous for releasing poorly researched books, this is a low. Pass up any...

modern Enochian, November 17, 2001
This review is from: An Advanced Guide to Enochian Magick: A Complete Manual of Angelic Magick (Llewellyn's high magick series) (Paperback)
It seems to be a tied together work, that assigns a bunch of different attributions to the different Aethys. Also included are numerous revamped ceremonial rituals such as the Lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram, but reworked with enochian language. It is the complete antithesis of Robert Turner's research , the author of _Elizabethan Magic_, and editor of _The Heptarchia_ , whose research shows that G.'.D.'. interpretations are off-track. Let's hope a publisher reprints this, as used copy prices are seriously inflated.

Astounding Insight Into The Enochian System, December 15, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: An Advanced Guide to Enochian Magick: A Complete Manual of Angelic Magick (Llewellyn's high magick series) (Paperback)
I found "An Advanced Guide to Enochian Magick" to be extremely helpful with my studies of Divination and Traveling Aethyrs. The layout from begining to end is easy to follow. I highly reccomend this book to all Users of Enochian Magick. It compliments the Tarot User as well. The Step-By-Step method of the rituals, et al, make for easy learning. Although this system is complicated, I feel it was brought to my level.

Pass up any of Schueler's books, and get one by James or Tyson instead. Or go straight to the diaries ;)The Angels themselves will give you all of the Advanced Enochian you can handle!

Enochian Dangers, November 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: An Advanced Guide to Enochian Magick: A Complete Manual of Angelic Magick (Llewellyn's high magick series) (Paperback)
The book contains "blinds" and "omissions", and only an Enochian master, such as Dr. Schueler's collegue and friend, Merlinus Sortiarius, has the "keys" to make these texts work... I know, because I was initially instructed by Merlinus, who sent me the enochian material to fill in these "blinds" and "omissions" in the Schueler texts. It is to keep the truth of enochian magic from the "profane". Dr. Schueler currently, due to ill health, refers all students to Merlinus. This book is useless without such an advanced or "master" teacher, who has the true keys, and real enochian alphabet, and corrected elemental tablets, squares, etc. A warning and words of wisdom, be very careful. I explained in more detail in a reader's comment on Schueler's first Enochian Magic beginning texts. You are truly looking upon a very dangerous system of magic here, and there are "secrets" well beyond the scope of this commentary. Beware the fools that would fall to the snare of some "groups" that offer everything for free, but know that all things come with a price, for when entering this path, you are dealing with the invisible world, beyond the realms of physical sight. When dealing with the most powerful system of magic(k) on the planet, a mistake could cost you your life, literally. Be wise, and be aware, some "groups" are not what they appear, as some use "knowledge" wrongly, and serve "masters" or entities hidden from site, which require a certain "sacrifice" in exchange for powers, abilities, and other such "occult" things. Study Franz Bardon's works... and the warning will be more understood. Buy this book, and you play with fire, and pursue the fool's path, a useless puzzle with the major pieces beyond the reach of the "profane".
