I have been in the IT profession for many years. I have published 13 computer science books. The latest was just completed. I was also a subject matter expert for CompTIA in the creation of their Security+, Linux+, and Server+ certification tests. I hold a number of IT certifications (A+, Network+, iNet+, Linux+, Server+, MCP, MCAD, MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA,MCTS, MCITP, CEH, CHFI, CISSP, ISSAP, and more). I also have gone back to school to finally get my Ph.D. (right now I just have a masters degree). I am working on my dissertation. I love teaching and writing. And I hope my books are a vehicle for learning. It is my goal to teach you new technologies in a way that it very readable, conversational.
I live in Texas (near Dallas). I have one son, named AJ. I have few vices in my life except for my love of pipes and an occaisional Guiness. I can be found at least a couple of days a week at the Cigar Lounge in McKinney Texas (www.acigarlounge.com). Sometimes writing, sometimes just smoking!
