Wrong charts. Wrong math. Don't buy!, December 30, 2011
This review is from: Advanced Options Trading: Approaches, Tools, and Techniques for Professionals Traders (Hardcover)
I've been learning options trading for a while now from online resources, mentors, seminars, etc. While I'm familiar with a lot of these strategies already, I was hoping for additional insight and analysis so I thought what better way to find deeper analysis than to pickup a wordy book on the topic. It turns out this book doesn't analyze all that deeply and is unnecessarily wordy. The author uses sentences to describe things that could be simply displayed in a table or listed as bullet points. For example, if you want to know if a strategy is bearish or bullish or neutral, you might have to read more than one page into the analysis if it bothers to tell you at all and also the formulation of the strategies like what to buy/sell is not listed out but instead described in a lengthy paragraph. To top it all off, the math is incorrect in many places and a lot of items end up backwards such as the delta on the greeks being positive rather than negative. It's actually kinda important! Even simple math which they spell out manage to be botched such as this example: 36.00 - 32.00 = 3.00. 3.00!? Really?!
Don't trust this book!! It's going to confuse the heck out of you.
