He focuses on programming languages, virtual machines, enterprise systems, and the role of psychology and philosophy in software development. He speaks at conferences around the world, writes for a variety of different journals including columns with IBM's developerWorks, Microsoft's MSDN, and Oracle's TechNet periodicals.
