I found out about this problem 10 days later, and now can't get my money back.

I normally have difficulty understanding text books and need to sit in a class to understand it better, but this book made it very easy.

I highly recommend it to other advanced practice nursing(APN) students or APNs.

College students get assignments based on page numbers in a real book (such as see the figure on page 593, or "Read pages 600-623") The Kindle version only has "section numbers" which are useless, and change based upon your current zoom level.

I found out about this problem 10 days later, and now can't get my money back. I have to buy the hard copies of my books all over again, and have to spend double on my books. I will never buy another kindle textbook! I am very angry and feel duped! I also will never again click on the link "tell this author you want this book on kindle". Very disappointing.

UPDATE: I called customer service, and they refunded my money! Amazon customer service rules! But still, don't buy any kindle textbooks unless and until they add the page numbers.

This book was purchased as a required text for my FNP program. Never before have so many words been utilized to convey so little useful information. The contributors to the text seem to have pulled together statement after referenced statement from the *thousands* of references utilized in compiling such a book. I appreciate the effort that this must have entailed; however, the end result is fragmented strings of other author's ideas piled together. There is no flow in the reading, nor is there much original thought involved in the production of this work. I am not sure that there is enough coffee in Columbia to make it through this text!

The book was okay. I used other resources more than this. Other books I bought for the class were more helpful and an easier read although many of my classmates referenced to this book so it may be more my opinion of text that makes me not like it so much.

I had the very good fortune to have Ann Hamric as a professor during my NP studies, and while the book may not be the most entertaining to read, it contains oh-so-important and pertinent knowledge pertaining to advanced practice nursing. 'Advanced Practice Nursing: An Integrative Approach', along with Ann Hamric, are reasons why I know: (a) the role of an NP, what it is and should be when applying for a job; (b) the difference between an NP and CNS; (c) the proper way to market myself as an APN, configure a contract and negotiate salary; (d) the importance of tracking outcomes; and (e) the nuances of regulatory issues and barriers to practice.

Two VERY enthusiastic thumbs up for 'Advanced Practice Nursing: An Integrative Approach'! Kudos to the founding editors, as well as edition/chapter contributors...it will remain on my bookshelf for years to come!

This book mentions the same things over and over again. I used this for an online course offered by a brick and mortar state university, and I had several online discussions pertaining to readings from this book. I read only the first chapter and aced the course based on the information presented there. It's not a bad book by any means, and if you have to get it then buy it. It's just redundant.

This is an excellent book which clearly explains the role of an APN as well as the business planning and reimbursement procedures etc. I normally have difficulty understanding text books and need to sit in a class to understand it better, but this book made it very easy. The authors were very knowledgeable. Hats off to them.

It should say something that I, as a graduate nursing student, am keeping this book as reference. The chapters were long but FULL of useful information about APN history, licensure, etc etc. I highly recommend.
