4.0 out of 5 stars I passed the RRT
I used this book along with some tapes from kettering and some practice simulations on the kettering website and I passed both parts of the RRT the first time. I think this book is a good review of what is on the test, but I don't recommend using this book alone.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's an ok book
This book provides an adequate review style outline for respiratory care. However, if you can only buy two books, I would recommend Persing's book, and the written registry exam review by Wojciechowski. I think this book was a waste of my money. This review is from: Advanced Respiratory Therapist Exam Guide: The Complete Resource for the Written Registry and Clinical Simulation Exams (Book with CD-ROM) (Paperback)
This book provides an adequate review style outline for respiratory care. However, if you can only buy two books, I would recommend Persing's book, and the written registry exam review by Wojciechowski. I think this book was a waste of my money. Also, the CD-Rom doesn't work. Other options for practicing these exams include purchasing individual exams from www.goamp.com. They provide you with feed back, so you understand why your answer is wrong and another answer is the best choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS BOOK, August 19, 2004
This review is from: Advanced Respiratory Therapist Exam Guide: The Complete Resource for the Written Registry and Clinical Simulation Exams (Book with CD-ROM) (Paperback)
I GOT THIS BOOK AND THE CD-ROM DIDN'T WORK SO I HAD TO HAVE A NEW ONE SENT. SECONDLY, THE CD-ROM DOES REPLICATE THE SIMS AND SCORES IT FOR YOU BUT DOESN'T TELL YOU WHY YOU PASSED OF FAILED THE SIM AND WHAT THE BETTER CHOICES COULD BE. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND TIME AND GO TO KETTERING NATIONAL SEMINARS BECAUSE THIS BOOK IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

4.0 out of 5 stars I bought it for the pictures . . ., February 28, 2000
Actually, I bought it for the hemodynamics. I found (and still find) the book to be quite helpful. The layout is very basic - just the listing of information. That almost put me to sleep occasionally because I do better with an outline style (I use this and a Persing review together and that's perfect for me). The illustrations and tables in the Sills are definitely among the better I've seen in these books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Respiratory Study Guide - really helps for boards, November 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought the new and old version (I used older version, husband needed newer version per our instructor, since he was in a different year than me) Anyway, great book to study for boards, I passed both CRT and RRT first try. Goes over everything. Has nice hints/tips to pass the test in boxes throughout the book. HIGHLY recommend. Also has good practice questions for multiple choice and sims type questions...

5.0 out of 5 stars I PASSED RRT, February 11, 2011

I used this book back in 2006 to pass the RRT. I did not spend the extra money on Kettering Seminars or any other book. This book got me through the clin sims and the written portion!
