1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this book!
I cannot agree with the reviewers who give this book a high grade! I would avoid it like the plague. Concepts are poorly explained, real word examples and problems are notable for their absence, and the book is generally poorly written. I would look elsewhere for a book on this subject

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent coverage of Classical Thermodynamics., September 11, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Advanced Thermodynamics for Engineers (Hardcover)
There are numerous texts about thermodynamics. Most senior/graduate level texts tend to rely too much on the deriving equations, availability, or the mathematics. This text is a great blend of engineering and thermodynamics. It is perfect for students and instructors alike.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Difficult to teach a class from this book., January 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Advanced Thermodynamics for Engineers (Hardcover)
I tried to teach a class from this book, but I and my students gave up. Complex ideas are explained too briefly and simple ideas are beaten to death. You must have a basic thermo book on hand when reading this. The problems are good, but they don't require an complete understanding of the text. My students complained that there were no real-world applications and I could not find any for them.
