About the Author
Joan L. Duda is a Professor of Sports Psychology in the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University in the USA. Dr. Duda is currently President of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology and has also been a member of the executive boards of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, the Sport Psychology Academy, and the International Society for Sport Psychology. She was Associate Editor and then Editor of the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the International Journal of Sport Psychology, and The Sport and Exercise Psychology Journal. Dr. Duda has over 130 scientific publications focused on the topic of sport motivation and the psychological dimensions of sport and exercise behavior and has presented over 150 papers at professional meetings. Dr. Duda has been an invited speaker in over 15 countries around the world and, in 1997, she was named the Visiting International Scholar by the Australian Sport Psychology Society. She is certified as a Sport Psychology Consultant by the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology and is listed on the US Olympic Registry. Between 1992-1996, she was the sport psychology consultant for the USA Gymnastics Women's US Olympic team in Atlanta. She was on the USA Gymnastics Health Care Advisory Board.

If you are truly into a masters/PhD program in sport psychology, this text is excellent! A great deal to learn from in an area of sport psych still under speculation. Great research book!
