This contains many of the great writers wittiest and most profound observations on faith and the meaning of Christmas. Some of them are taken from his well known books, but there are also many taken from his lesser known writings. For the Chesterton fan, there may be a surprise or two; for others, this is an enjoyable introduction. It also contains bible readings and prayers for each day of advent, related to the Chesterton quote. But the best part is the activity for each day. They are practical, creative ideas for putting into practice the spiritual values of the readings for the day. The activities are appropriate for adults and school age children. Its a great way to make this advent a memorable one.

I was hoping for more "wisdom" from G.K. Chesterton. All I got was brief quotes and commentaries about Chesterton and not more by the man himself.

My wife and I use this as a daily liturgical guide to help us prepare for and celebrate the Advent season. Short Chesterton quotes are paired thoughtfully with Scripture quotes, written prayers, and "Advent Actions" to help you practically engage the season.

In addition, it could be used for special preparatory Advent services in a church or small group setting with some liturgical guides in the back for that environment.

Overall, well worth your time. It's a highlight of our celebration of our Savior's birth!

I was hoping for something deeper. More Chesterton and deeper devotions. There were a few days that were insightful, and meaningful to me.

Tha Advent, plus 12 Days of Christmas was a great structure. Replaces the "climax" o Christmas Day with the true Hope and Miracle of its significance to my daily life.
