The Advent Jesse Tree enables individuals and families to engage in a more meaningful celebration of the Christmas season.

These daily Advent devotions are written in two versions (one for children and one version for adults) including a scripture, a story & commentary, questions to ask, a prayer, and a song.

Each devotional story is paired with a representative symbol that traces the heritage of Jesus…such as a lamb, a dove, a rainbow, a heart, a star, etc.

Children and their parents can utilize the symbolic line art printed with each daily devotion to craft meaningful ornaments.

These symbols coincide with the prayers, a memory verses, questions for children, and songs found in the devotions for that day.
 

Finally, on Christmas day, your tree will be filled with reminders of 25 Bible stories that led up to Christ’s birth.

About the Author

 

Dean Lambert Smith was born, raised, and educated in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. For over 25 years, she has served in various positions in the United Methodist Church such as Director of Music, Children, and Youth Activities and is currently Minister of Music at Oak Grove UMC. She also taught music and dance in the Hattiesburg and Forrest County public school systems. Smith received her formal musical training with a BMEd and also her MATL degree at the University of Southern Mississippi where she currently is an instructor in the English Language Institute.

An accomplished musician and actress, Dean recently won the Best Actress award of the Mississippi Theater Association. She has also served as director/ conductor of various community theater productions including the renowned musical opera Les Mis.

Dean is the author of the nationally published books, The Advent Jesse Tree and The Lenten Tree, devotional books for Christmas and Easter. She has also authored the book series: Wrestling with Rejection.

Dean is married to Eddie Smith and has three daughters, Elizabeth, Emily and son-in-law Ted, and Erin.

Each year a group of ladies (25) gets together and picks a day's devotional and makes an ornament to go along with that day. Each person makes 25 of their ornament and then everyone gets together and exchanges. Finally, you have a complete set that you can use along with this great devotional book!! Each day has a devotion/symbol and there are readings for children and adults. My children unwrap the ornament for the day and then we read the devotional. It makes a wonderful family time!!

THIS BOOK TRACES THE HERITAGE OF JESUS CHRIST IN THE OLD TESTMENT. ADULTS ENJOY THE CHILDREN'S DEVOTIONS AS WELL AS THEIR OWN. EACH DAY AN ORNAMENT IS PLACED ON A TREE TO GO WITH EACH DEVOTIONAL.

THIS BOOK WAS VERY INSPIRATIONAL TO MY FAMILY. IT BROUGHT US SO CLOSE TOGETHER AROUND CHRISTMAS. MOST OF THE TIME ONE LOSES SIGHT OF WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT & THIS BOOK BRINGS IT HOME TO NOT ONLY OUR CHILDREN BUT TO US AS PARENTS.

IT IS A MUST BOOK FOR THE FAMILY LIBRARY TO ENJOY OVER & OVER.
