The Advent Jesse Tree: Devotions for Children and Adults to Prepare for the Coming of the Christ Child at Christmas

Each year a group of ladies (25) gets together and picks a day's devotional and makes an ornament to go along with that day. Each person makes 25 of their ornament and then everyone gets together and exchanges. Finally, you have a complete set that you can use along with this great devotional book!! Each day has a devotion/symbol and there are readings for children and adults. My children unwrap the ornament for the day and then we read the devotional. It makes a wonderful family time!!

THIS BOOK TRACES THE HERITAGE OF JESUS CHRIST IN THE OLD TESTMENT. ADULTS ENJOY THE CHILDREN'S DEVOTIONS AS WELL AS THEIR OWN. EACH DAY AN ORNAMENT IS PLACED ON A TREE TO GO WITH EACH DEVOTIONAL.

THIS BOOK WAS VERY INSPIRATIONAL TO MY FAMILY. IT BROUGHT US SO CLOSE TOGETHER AROUND CHRISTMAS. MOST OF THE TIME ONE LOSES SIGHT OF WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT & THIS BOOK BRINGS IT HOME TO NOT ONLY OUR CHILDREN BUT TO US AS PARENTS.

IT IS A MUST BOOK FOR THE FAMILY LIBRARY TO ENJOY OVER & OVER.

This little book is the perfect way to start a Jesse Tree family tradition at Christmas time! It has devotionals for both children and adults, and goes through many important passages that point the way to our world's need for Christ. I bought a large roll of green felt and painted the outline of a Christmas tree. Then I printed out the images the book mentions & laminated them and put velcro on the backs of each. We had a really great time going through the tree each day and look forward to continuing our tradition in years to come!

We've only used this for one Advent so far, but I loved it! The people who wrote it really seem to understand how to talk to small children, unlike some other things that I've used even though they were written specifically for children. I think it's great for adults, too. It's clear, to the point, and enjoyable to read. Exactly what we needed for our family that's made up of two very tired and distracted parents and four small kids.

Wow. This book is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It includes the Scripture verse, the type of symbol to display, suggested songs to sing AND a devotion for both kids and adults. Highly recommend!!

My family is really enjoying this book. Each daily devotion is short with scripture reading from the old and new testaments. Short discussions about the scripture and a prayer. For the ornaments I have just been photocopying the picture for each day, having one of my children decorate it and at the end of the devotion they hang it on the lighted greenery on the stairwell. All of us look forward to this time together each evening as the story unfolds to the birth of Jesus. I highly recommend this book.

With handmade ornaments to go with this book and allowing children to hang one on the tree each night, it was the highlight of Christmas for our family.

I love this little book. It provides at great way to celebrate the real reason for Christmas. From Dec. 1 to 25 there is a devotion with a cooresponding ornament. You can make or buy the ornaments. A group of us from chruch each took an ornament to make. We made enough to share with everyone in the group.

This book is a very good way to introduce family devotional time & introduce the birth of Jesus to children. It gives parents suggestions, Bible verses, and exactly what to say.
