I was skeptical about repairing my speakers and how they might sound after the foam deteriorated. I decided to give it a try since replacing the speakers was going to cost: a.) $600 for replacing the towers, b.) $80 each for replacement woofers, or c.) $25 to replace the foam. I opted to try "c". This Simply Speakers kit is amazing, well thought out and high quality. They include everything you need to make a successful repair, including online videos at YouTube to SHOW you how it's done. If you are considering repair of your speakers, view the video first if you are not sure of your abilities. I assure you, you can do it!

The quality of the foam is excellent. Upon opening the box, I thought that I only received the foam for one speaker, but I found that the two foams are nested together. Whew! I've seen reviews about not enough glue. I don't see how that is possible. I did two 8" speakers without skimping on the glue and still have at least 3/4 of the tube left.

The most time consuming, messy, and critical part is making sure that you remove all of the old foam and glue. It's not hard - I used a single sided razor on the metal frame. The kit says to use rubbing alcohol to soften the glue, but I used "Goof Off" first and then cleaned that up with the alcohol before installing the new foam. Works great and the speakers sound like brand new!

Product was exactly as advertise. It arrived in about 5 days. I had used this product previously to repair another woofer in my Advent Heritage pair of tower speakers. This time I had two of the four foams break down. The first repair was over two years ago and is still preforming well. I just followed the well written instructions. After more than 20 years of use. The Advents are still Rocking.

With the help of a YouTube video and the instructions that came with the product, I was able to successfully complete the project. I would not describe the process as easy. However, if you are patient and take your time it works quite well. I love the Advent Prodigy speakers and these edges allowed me to save them and get many more years of use from them.

My advent spekeakers had dry rotted. I knew that I could probably fix them, but hesitated to, but the repairs have restsored them to their quality sound.

I bought this to save a pair of 20+ year old Advent Prodigy speakers - the foam edges had disintegrated. Followed the instructions and it took about 30 minutes (not including dry-time). I've seen other reviews noting that there is not enough glue - I was generous with the glue and have about 1/2 of the tube left. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the price - $25 for two pieces of foam and a tube of glue is pretty steep, but a lot cheaper than new speakers.

I have a pair of advent prodigy speakers. They are over 20 yrs old and the foam surrounds fell apart. I watched the video on you tube. Once you clean up the old junk and prepare the speakers for this kit it is pretty easy to do.A SMALL HINT When you use the glue have a small paint brush handy to spread the glue . A little glue goes a long way. The speakers are back to new and work as good as new. If you got old speakers that need the foam repairs fixed get this kit and do it yourself and save a bundle. Kit came is mint shape complete and had excellent instructions.
