I checked out five book's from the library on St. Martin. The Hunter travel guide has more information than all the other book's put together.

In preparation for a trip to SXM in Nov 2010, I took out the following 4 books from the library in order to decide which I wanted to purchase:
1.) St. Martin & St. Barts Hunter Travel Guide, 2nd Edition (2007) 2.) Frommer's SXM, Anguilla & St. Barts (2009) 3.) Fodor's SXM, St. Barths & Anguilla (2009) 4.) Fodor's Caribbean 2010 (2010) The Hunter Travel Guide is filled w/lots of color pics & some info I didn't find in the other books, including Metric conversions for liters to gallons, kilos to pounds. It includes informative descriptions on many of the most popular hotels, restaurants and things to do & compared to Frommer's & Fodor's, has the edge when it comes to maps. I think it's definitely a helpful guidebook in researching these 2 islands; I decided to photocopy some of the pages and purchase both the Frommer's and Fodor's only b/c these two guides were published in 2009 & also include info on Anguilla, an island we intend to visit while in SXM. |
