5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product-Conducts Heat/Waterproof
I used this product on a canoe trip. In the tent, it provided excellent insulation when used as a second blanket. Out on the water it reflected heat from the sun and really warmed us up. Even when it was wet, it still kept us warm. Great product that I would definitely purchase again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for Emergency
I got this for my emergency car kit. I comes as the picture shows. It is small and lightweight and although not top quality much better than a mylar blanket alone as this will block wind. I actually wish I would have gotten two as I generally have someone riding with me. I recommend this for a car emergency kit or even a 72 hour emergency kit see FEMA website.

As winter set in this year, I thought about how I could help homeless people in Seattle (there are so many of them) - I don't like to give them cash, for a number of reasons, and giving food is always tough - where do they store it, do they have allergies etc? Plus many of them eat at shelters and food kitchens, and they don't love havng more stuff to carry when on the street. So I started researching reflective blankets, thinking that one of these may save the life of someone forced to sleep on the street in the frigid weather. This product looked like the most durable and practical of all the options I looked at, so I bought a few and carry them in my car (one for me, in case of emergency, the others to give away). They have been very positively received by the homeless people I've given them to - they are grateful for something that folds up small, is light weight and will help keep them both warm(er) and dry(er) when they're not able to get a shelter berth for the night. For not a lot of cash, I've been able to make a small difference to some people and I'm grateful for a product that is so perfectly suited to the task!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heatsheet is a great upgrade for the cheaper Emergency Blankets, March 8, 2011

American Medical Kits (AMK/SOL (survive outdoors longer)) has done a great upgrade to the standard $2-3 emergency blanket many folks keep in their glovebox or backpacks. This blanket is actually reusable/refoldable if you want to keep it, and still inexpensive enough if you need to trash it. It is also much quieter than the noisy foil blankets. Nice job AMK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Emergency Blankets I've ever seen!, April 22, 2011

I have not yet had the opportunity to use these blankets, but since they were purchased to be part of my emergency preparedness kit I guess hopefully it will stay that way. However, based on looks alone these blankets are the biggest, most versitile blankets I've ever seen. Usually with the tin foil blankets, which I have used, you are forced to pick the part of you body you want to keep warm because they are too small and don't stretch out well. This blanket appears thicker, larger and can even double as a shelter. Best aspect is they are made right here in the USA. Worth the few extra bucks in my opinion.

Better than than average emergency blanket. Very strong for what it is. Well worth the money. Buy a few for your bug out bag, camping, or hiking packs. Wish I had one in my car last winter when the entire highway shutdown. I was stuck in my car for 12 hours in the snow. . Good piece of kit. Buy them!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than nothing, January 30, 2012

I have not opened the bag, so I cannot comment on how well these emergency blankets work. I have used other types of emergency blankets and found that many are rather thin and really only good for 1,maybe 2 uses. These were bought for emergencies and are kept in my cars. They appear to be of good quality and reviews of the company that make them are good. Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

5.0 out of 5 stars pocket insurance, January 22, 2012

This is not the two-person blanket, but it's just about right for putting in a pocket (just in case). Certainly better than the cheapo, all-silver, old-school "space blanket."

Great little emergency blanket in a waterproof pouch. Add a few items to the pouch and you have an instant survival kit for the car or daypack.
