Adventure Medical Kits S.O.L. Thermal Bivvy is a must have emergency item for those times that things don't go as planned. This bivvy is a great addition to any emergency kit you have to include: Bug Out Bag (BOB), Get Home Bag (GHB), Every Day Carry (EDC) kit, hiking/backpacking gear, or vehicle emergency kit.

Pros:

+ Reflects 80% of radiated body heat. You will still need a layer of protection if laying on a cold surface to prevent heat loss from the ground.

+ Durable fabric that resists punctures and tears making it reusable depending on your environment. Keep in mind that this is designed for emergency use and not long term use. If you do develop a rip or tear then just get out some duct tape for a simple and effective repair.

+ You have the ability to open vents to reduce condensation or to get some fresh air.

+ Rated to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are dressed appropriately you can use this in a colder environment.

+ Waterproof and windproof.

+ Ultralight. Weight is not a consideration for those who count ounces.

+ Compact compared to a sleeping bag.

+ Comes with a small stuff sack.

Con:

-Not having the Thermal Bivvy when you need one!

If you are caught in an emergency situation you will not want to be without this bivvy to provide protection and warmth from the elements. You can't go wrong with this excellent product. I highly recommend the S.O.L. Thermal Bivvy as an essential emergency gear item.

This is a great product. I carry this on every hike. In the winter, I carry a thermo max bag liner as well both are small enough to fit in your hand. If I were to decide to stay overnight I am prepared. You get a lot of bang for your buck and performance for weight. Get one, better to have it and not need it than the alternative.

These work and are not like the ultra thin emergency blanket people try to sell you. This will keep you warm and allow your sweat out I am not sure how dry it would keep you in a rain storm as it just has side Velcro patches down the side with no real seal. I use them in a hammock to keep cold butt at bay.... Would buy again

Very small package when rolled. Easy to get back in the package. A durable and useful product that can be used many times.
