It seems to work well, as I have always got the whole tick out. The edges on the tick nipper are a little large and flat for gripping the tick. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the magnifing glass part of it is extremely blurry, and honestly is not helpfull. I would recommend it to others for the price.

We have been using the Tick Removal Tool with great success. Not only does it remove the tick but more inportantly it protects you because you do not have to handle the tick. Finally, all other methods we tried resulted in removal by pulling on the tick body which would force fluids back into my fur baby. Since this cups around the body of tick it is a much safer process.Tick Nipper

I have had good results with the Tick Nipper; it removed even well-attached ticks quickly and easily -- except one time when a deer tick dug deeply into my daughter's earlobe. Half its body was below skin level. That time I was able to get only half the tick's body with the Tick Nipper, and we had to go the doctor to dig out the rest. I don't know if any tick removal device would have worked in that circumstance. A friend has a device called Ticked Off which looks well designed. I'm going to buy some of those to keep on hand.
