...but you're not really getting full value with this title.

An overhead brawler game of the likes of gauntlet and such, EtDBIDK is a cute entry into the Adventure Time universe but doesn't seem worth the initial $40 price tag.

Set in the Secret Royal Dungeon, EtDBIDK follow Finn, Jake, and quite a few of their friends and acquaintances (including Marceline and Lumpy Space Princess) as they enter its depths at Princess Bubblegum's request to figure out why all the prisoners she keeps locked up down there are escaping. As they go deeper and deeper they find stronger enemies, more powerups, and free additional friends and allies who will either join them on their quest or help them equip themselves up top.

As a basic game, EtDBIDK is definitely lacking... multiplayer isn't required, but very helpful as each character has their strengths and varying attack types. I wouldn't want to enter a dungeon without at least one tank type (Cinnamon Bun) and one flyer type (LSP or Marceline). There are also limitations on leveling your character thanks to PB's weird tax rule which takes all unspent treasure every time you come back to the surface. If you don't use it, you lose it, which basically means it's pointless to grind the early levels to build up your stats, forcing your deeper and deeper into the dungeon for bigger stacks of gold.

In addition, there's also not much variation thus far in the game (I'm only up to dungeon level 20 of 100). Yes, every level is randomized every single time you enter the dungeon, but all that really does is shift walls around, add impossible to get to treaures and chests (if you don't have spare keys or a flyer), and expand the map a bit into another section of randomized tiles. That's all well and good, but... so far...

My kids and I played it for a little while, but we all got tired of it fast. I feel bad for those who don't have anyone to share this burden of a game with. True Adventure Time fans will be disappointed and I do not recommend paying full price for this title. While there is some humor and kitten launchers, this game still fails to draw my attention Because I DON'T KNOW!

Is this game repetitive? Yes. Is it still freakin' soul-obliteratingly awesome?? YESSSS!! My fiance and I looooathe fighting fire demons and dungeon mutants in real life, but there is something so innately satisfying about slinging loaves of bread at the baddies, kicking open treasure chests, and shoving down as much fake fruit as our 8-bit gullets can handle in this game. If you enjoy anything even remotely Adventure Time-esque and/or Dungeons & Dragons, get thee to a store or computer and purchase this bit o' deliciousness on the double!

This game was definitely geared to the younger crowd. I like the 16 bit looking characters and the premise of the game. This is definitely not a deep experience but it is fun for what it is.

Avoid this at all cost. It is a complete shame that the creative minds behind Adventure Time endorsed this in any way. Do NOT fall for the idea that the graphics or presentation is "retro." It is pure laziness only sold as homage. A disgrace at any price point higher than $1.99 for a mobile download. Any 4 player multiplayer is better.

My 9-year old son loves this game. He likes that he can be one of four of his favorite characters. The levels are fun -- you can go to different floors in the dungeon. It's one of the games he plays quite often.

It's a great game. It's a challenge, but it's a lot of fun. But there is no creativity behind the game. The different levels aren't really too different. It's as if they just MS Painted the levels a different color. The game needs more characters. One big problem with the game is that it's really glitchy. I've played several times the same level and the game will freeze. And not on the same spot. Random spots. Which just means to me that there are a lot of bugs in this game that need to be fixed. It's a good game and I would like to play it some more, but it just needs to be fixed some more.

I wanted to like it so bad. But the game is so bad. Every time you go to the candy kingdom, you have to spend all your money or you'll loose it when you go back into a dungeon. Every dungeon is just.. Well the same thing. I'm still keeping the game though because i love adventure time but this is nothing like "hey ice king why did you steal our garbage" (which was friggin fun!)
This was nothing but boring, aggravating ,and disappointing...esp coming from a huge AT fan. But i will not let this cloud my judgement on their next game!
