About the Author

Paul "Buck" Kalinowski, Jr. was born in a small New England town in the state of Connecticut in the Spring of 1958. At a very young age, he discovered that he had a great affection and respect for horses. While growing up, he worked at a neighborhood farm, learning all he could about handling and understanding these beautiful animals.

Paul still resides in Wolcott, the small town he grew up in. Through hard work and diligence, he is now the proud owner of a 90-acre farm that stables nearly 100 horses, as well as cows, llamas, goats, chickens and even a peacock.

Feeling blessed by what he has, he feels a need to give back to the community. Even with his very busy schedule, he finds time to work with mentally and physically challenged individuals through therapeutic riding lessons. At any given time, you will also find him working extensively with inner city children who do not have the privilege of country living. Through spending time with these children, he hopes that they too will find the affection and respect he has for horses, but also for each other by learning responsibility and teamwork.

Buck's Cupid's Secret is the true story of a horse with a heart on her forehead who gives birth to a colt with an arrow on his rump. It is one of Trafford's all-time top sellers.

The Adventures of Arrow is a great book. He is so funny and gets into all kinds of mischief, when Mom Cupid is not around. Enjoy this story it is uplifting and will make you smile. Buck Kalinowski is a special author with special messages in his writtings.

What a charming story. Cupid, a mare, is the mother of Arrow, her colt and the star of this collection of stories that touch the heart and teach wonderful lessons with great questions at the end of each story to discuss with your child. Amazingly enough, Cupid received her name because of a white blaze on her face shaped exactly like a heart. Then, she has a colt with a perfect arrow on his back pointing towards his head with his tale as the feathers at the end of the arrow. If I hadn't seen it for myself, I might not have believed it but there are pictures on the front and the back of these lovely horses.

Bruce Kalinowski has also written a book called Cupid's Secret and this book the Adventures of Arrow is the sequel. I haven't read the first one, but I would definitely consider it after reading this one. Kalinski's warmth and love of horses shine though, in fact he now lives on a hundred acre farm with nearly 100 horses and other animals.

The Adventures Of Arrow is a great story to read to kids. Entertaining and filled with important life lessons that are easy to understand, told in a way that doesn't preach at kids. I loved this book.
