5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for the whole family! May 21, 2013

We found this family-friendly movie and bought a copy for our library. After watching it with the whole family we found it to have a very sweet story line with animal and human actors to add to the fun. The script has a lot of funny lines that make you chuckle. The bad guys are actually quite charming. Loved the different breeds of dogs and how they performed with each other and with their humans. "Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown" will definitely be watched over and over. I would highly recommend this movie to all ages. Looking forward to the next one!Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown

Everyone's favorite pooch Bailey is back and looking for love in all the wrong places. The Adventures of Bailey began in 2010's "The Lost Puppy," continued in 2012's "A Christmas Hero," and now changes locales for 2013's "A Night in Cowtown." Despite the positive messages inherent in the Bailey films, I have not always been their biggest fan. "A Christmas Hero," in particular, suffered from a real lack of pacing. Due to their inexpensive budget, "Bailey" is one of those film series that employ the talking animal format without any special effects. The camera just closes in on the dog's face as some actor (using a funny voice) narrates the line. I think that's a perfectly viable option, under the circumstances, but it can make the movies feel very stagnant. The images don't really bring the action to the screen. This is particularly noticeable when large sections of the movies focus solely on the animal interactions. For my taste, "A Night in Cowtown" is a marked improvement from "A Christmas Hero." The human characters play a bigger role and are better integrated into the experience and plot. That said, I also think that the film might skew a little older. There's plenty of romance (human and canine) and even a criminal subplot. It creates for a better story overall, but it makes the proceedings a little more adult than the previous two movies.

In "A Night in Cowtown," Bailey and his family have been transplanted to a picturesque Texas tourist town. If you're looking for an explanation for this relocation, a cast-off line by one of the dogs indicate that there was a financial windfall of some type (IPOs). The early part of the movie introduces a romantic interest for both the teenage girl and for Bailey. In fact, the teenagers play a larger role here than in previous editions.

5.0 out of 5 stars So adorable! May 22, 2013
Format:DVD
I purchased this movie for my little sister and watched it with her, she loved it and so did I! She loved the animals and seeing them "talk" and I loved that it was a wholesome yet entertaining movie for her to enjoy. I'll check out the other "Adventures of Bailey" movies in the near future.
