What a fun book! I'm a "grown up" and I had a lot of fun with it. I'm a counselor and I can tell you that from working with kids, they need books like this one that will allow them to possibly identify with the characters in the book. I personally saw a lot of myself in Zach.With computers playing such a big role in childrens lives, it can be difficult to for them to discover the simple pleasures of reading. This book makes reading interesting and fun as it adds many of the elements that today's computer-saavy kids are familiar with and enjoy.

This book is filled with fantasy and adventure. It's easily a book that kids can really dive into. It's important for kids to exercise their imagination and this book certainly avails itself to that process. Further, new generations of children are speaking a "tech" language and this book both builds and plays on this lingo!

Kids who love computers and web surfing will like this book where the inside of the computer becomes the setting for our heroes Capt. Computerman and Mouseman. Computer language is used throughout.

Zach and Robert, computer junkies are the main characters of this book. Mrs. Sleazydeezy Vestervinkle is their teacher. Bored with school and not very good students, they mysteriously get pulled into their computer. While in the computer the boys discover a plot by Dr. Reken Stench to steal all of the toy websites. They travel around in their Mousemobile trying to catch Dr. Stench.

The names of the characters are funny and the adventures of our heroes are amusing. They get into all kinds of trouble. As a fan of the Captain Underpants series, this book is very similar and just as funny.

There is a section of bloopers and a glossary of funny descriptions. The illustrations are very good and tell the story well.

In my opinion, boys ages 8-10 years would like this book.

I wondered how long it would be until kids books developed with new technology and were placed in the environs of the computer and the Internet. This is one such book.

Basically Zach and Robert, underachievers, love surfing the web. They don't do well in school one flunks the spelling test and the other is happy to get a D plus, which means he didn't flunk. Not exactly Rhodes scholars. They also have a child's distorted view of time as their teacher, Mrs. Sleazydeezy Vestervinkle, is "an old lady about 33 years old." What makes me at age 42? But like I said, a child's view of "old" is different from an adult's view.
The book is also PC (as in politically correct) or maybe it's tweaking the PC crowd? Captain Computerman begins to tell a blonde joke when Mouseman stops him with "Hey, you are going to make the blondes upset!" Then there's always "pick your nose .org," which I really don't need to know about.

Basically Zach and Robert get sucked into their new computer at school. It is inside the computer"or are they on the "information superhighway?"-that the two boys learn about the nefarious (my word, not theirs) plot of Dr. Reken Stench to steal all favorite toy web sites. Can they catch the evil doctor? What will become of the boys?

Along the way the reader will have some bumps of humor. Page 39 ends with:
WARNING >>> WARNING >>> WARNING
The next pages will NOT be suitable for children under the age of 103 to view. Way too violent. Don't peek. Don't look! Don't EVEN think about it!
Of course you turn the page to "view" (see, even the nomenclature is computer-oriented) the following:
OH, DANG "YOU LOOKED!!!
NOT A GOOD THING!!!
Continue on if you're brave enough!!!

You might even like the "glossary" at the back of the book. Well, hopefully you don't use those punny descriptions in any test. There is also a section of bloopers. Overall this is an enjoyable book for children, especially boys, likely in second through fourth grade.
