One can only imagine the multitude of sickos who write to him after advertising for two years in EASYRIDERS and PRISON LIFE magazines! Since the creation of the website and release of the new CD with two additional songs things have gone crazy. What with playing the "Mountain Oyster Circuit", biker rallies, pajama parties and whore houses, is it any wonder that Mrs. Rumbelly had him institutionalized for a short time? (They tried marriage counseling - but he fell in love with the counselor ...)
The musicianship on this recording is impressive! Standouts include Dr. Haystack (Don Carlson)on slide guitar, a cadre of fat guitar players, Thumper (Bruce Mandel) on bass and, of course, the fantastic horn section! Rumbellys voice sounds like hes been gargling with turpentine, but it is an endearing quality to the listener and by the end of the CD he is your best friend. This work is peppered with his incredible screams and infectious laughter. Throw in a couple of slutty women who know how to purr - well, its a treat!!
By the way: No animals were mutilated or molested during the production of The Adventures of Captain Rumbelly and the Panhead Pirates. (They thought about it, though ...)
People have been known to laugh so hard while listening to these songs that they blow beer out of their noses! There are a few tunes with slightly socially redeeming qualities, but thats about it. Rumbelly and his leather-clad mates take the listener on a bizarre trip into a crazy beer-soaked world full of fun and mysterious adventures.
This CD is perfectly legal (in most states), its non-addictive, no protection needed, no assembly required, it will not bitch at you and its ribbed and lubricated for your listening pleasure. ENJOY!!
