Product Description

In this hilarious and innovative strategy RPG, players take control of Finn Courtland and his band of misfits in their quest for fame and riches. Along the way, they just might have to save the world from the evil Arbitus and his band of demons. It'll take brains as well as brawn to win the day, though; the grid-based combat challenges players to think strategically and make the best use of each character's unique skills and abilities. The strategy doesn't end there, though! Players can spend their hard-earned cash to set up the game's randomized dungeons to their liking; choose the terrain, the size of the dungeon, and the monsters that you'll face. Play it safe, or take on bigger risks for even greater rewards! Your adventure is in your hands!

This is an RPG. You create your own dungeons to go fight in and can even decide what type monsters you will encounter. Most of the plot consists of people telling you what item they want, and then you go fight a monster and get it from them. The characters don't really develop much.

Then again, if you like the type game where you create the layout of your dungeon and mostly like to collect items, this is the game for you. I tend to prefer more plot to mine, and I like to be able to leave the city and explore different parts of the fictional world. In this game, you stay in the city the entire time...except for when you go to "Adventures to Go" and order yourself a dungeon to explore. Beware, though! Dungeons can get expensive.

I purchased this game because it was a tactics-type game, and I like those. I wasn't concerned with having only one city area to explore (dungeons are randomly generated), or with the apparent lack of characters. I am OK with grinding, and the opening dialogues involving a lazy kid who decided become a monster hunter were funny.

About 10 hours in, I hit a huge problem. My characters (I did get more) were completely overpowered. I was killing everything in one hit, and the only way to 'advance' into higher difficulty was random. You needed to hit a random event to find a random boss, and you could only tell if you'd hit that event by going over halfway through a dungeon filled with easy enemies which waste time via pointless combat. 20 minutes per dungeon. You can't even reset and retry; when you find out if the boss is there, you might as well finish and try again.

You are required to redo the same boring content so much that even when you hit new content, your party is overpowered. This is a major game design failure. The game balance was disgustingly on the 'easy' side. You could not 'order up' a boss battle, you had to go to easy land (and clear most of it) and hope your Event Ticket paid off (and if you didn't have an Event Ticket, go farming MORE easy dungeons to get one). Adventuring becomes extremely boring and tedious. I like the exploration/grind, but only if the enemies have a chance of winning. When only 1% of my play time was interesting, I put the game down.

If you enjoy challenge in your RPG's, avoid this game.

Very Fun Game. Where you have a certain degree of customizability for choosing the level you will enter. Also you can accomplish certain missions from this function. Interesting Quirky story and Good price Value. Not a bad pick up!
