This audio book was purchased for a trip with our two 12 year old granddaughters. Both of them enjoyed the story and had questions about the differences between the 1800s and now. This gave us an opportunity for expanded discussion about how life has changed and why slavery and prejudice must be stamped out and how what we say can truly be harmful. The reader does a fine job. We enjoyed the story yet again, not having read it for many years.
