I bought this book to read to my grandchildren. It has wonderful positive messages that I can only imagine will fill their little minds with great thoughts. I certainly wish I had had this available in my day.

We LOVE this book! I have 3 children 8 & 6 and this book is just wonderful! What's great are the songs (warning: read the story first yourself and come up with a tune so you're not caught offguard). The illustrations are great, the story is easily followed and we sing the songs all the time! We even invented a silly word and when we randomly say that silly word, the person we say it to breaks out in song "I can do what I want to do, I can be what I want to be, I can do what I want to do ... All of life supports me". The other day I caught my daughter humming it while doing some homework. How great is that!

I have two children and they love this book. When they feel afraid, they repeat Louise's words: "There is nothing here for me to fear -- I am safe and well protected."

I love Louise Hay, she changed my life. So when I saw this book, I just had to get it for my 6-year-old son.
He really enjoys the stories. Unfortunately, the last one - about overcoming fears - actually had the opposite affect on him. It made him afraid of the dark. He really likes the little mantra Lulu sings to get past her fears and even uses it. But he said we shouldn't read Lulu and the Dark anymore. He continues to enjoy the other two stories and I love the way they introduce concepts like affirmations, positive self-talk, and believing in yourself at a young age.

Kids Should Be Read (And Should Themsleves Read) Books That Build Them Up!,

This review is from: The Adventures of Lulu (Paperback)
Louise Hay is famous for her work on helping people to heal their life... in this book she turns her attention to teaching kids principles that create self-esteem, resourcefulness and strength. I fully believe that all kids should be read (or should read themsleves) books that build them up! For that reason alone, I rate this 4 stars. Notwithstanding its value in building kids up... it's a good little book which I enjoyed reading to my kids... and they enjoyed having read to them.
Highly recommended!

Gave as gifts,

I gave this book as a gift to my niece(3yo) and also a friends daughter(9). The 9yo LOVES the Mirror work story and even bought a special mirror to hang in her locker at school so she can see her "best friend" anytime she wants to :D. I just feel it is so important for kids to have these positive messages and tools most people including myself never knew about growing up. I cannot imagine how much different a persons life would be growing up knowing things like this vs how so many people grow up thinking and being told how life is just hard and tough and you have to work for everything, like is a constant struggle you will never win. I didn't find out about things like Louise Hays and similar things until around early 30s and it has transformed my life so I feel books like this are an amazing gift for children if the parents don't already talk about and teach them about these personal growth principles.Even though I feel my 3yo niece is too young to fully understand the message I feel and hope it will be planting the "seed" in her mind that will blossom as she grows up and remembers the message. |
