Whether you love them or hate them, the Olsen twins remain popular despite the conclusion of their long-running TV comedy Full House. The twins leap from the small screen to the even smaller-sized Game Boy Color system in this mystery arcade game. As teenage detectives, the determined duo aim to "solve any crime before dinner time"--but they won't get very far without your help.

While this reviewer was initially a bit skeptical about the quality of the game (which seems to have been created solely to cash in on the popularity of the twosome), it is, in fact, surprisingly good. Gamers must wander through multiple arcade levels in an attempt to solve each of five separate mysteries. In order to win each level, you'll have to use your wits to open locked cages and doors containing vital clues. Mary-Kate, Ashley, and the crime-biting dog Clue must cooperate with each other to complete each level. For example, each character has a special skill that is best suited for solving a specific arcade challenge. In many cases, you'll need to figure out which combination of special character moves to use in order to find a new clue.

The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley is strangely addictive and unexpectedly fun. Fans of the Olsen twins will want to pick this up, while nonfans may want to sneak a peek when no one else is looking. --Brett Atwood

Help Mary-Kate and Ashley solve five mysteries by dinnertime in THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MARY-KATE & ASHLEY. You take the roles of Mary-Kate, Ashley, and their dog Clue. Each character has a set of special abilities: Mary-Kate can jump to high ledges, Ashley can flip switches, and Clue can fit through narrow openings or give the girls a boost to higher areas. On each level, the girls and Clue must use their talents and work together to collect a puzzle piece. If you get stuck, there are three clue pieces scattered in each stage. Collect all three pieces, and you are given a hint on how to collect the puzzle piece. Digitized voice-work throughout the game will make you think you are really playing with Mary-Kate and Ashley. Try to solve all of the mysteries in THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MARY-KATE & ASHLEY.

Hi! I have 2 daughters under the age of 8 who could not get past the first level of the game after playing it for a week! They love Mary Kate and Ashley and couldnt wait to receive this game so it was a huge dissapointment to them when they had to keep re-doing the same screens over and over again! I'm sure this game would be loved by children older than 8, or for children who've had years of experience on their Game Boy!

My sister gave me this game a few months ago. It is REALLY fun, even though it's harder than other games I've played on Game Boy such as Mario Bros. It also has different type of play that I think is better even though it takes a while to learn. The sound, however, is awful! When Ashley and Mary-Kate speak it is all scatchy and blurred. It was not just my copy, either. We tried others at the store, too. So to sum it up this gets a five... if you play with the sound off.

This game is good for young children who are just getting used to the Game Boy system. Awsome Game Play and an involving story line are just what the Game Boy needs, and this game delivers both. a must have this Christmas Season!
