5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest Book EVER
I bought this book based on a friend's recommendation and think that it is about the best thing I've read in a long long time. Revolutionary! I know that this is the author's first book, but expect a lot more great things out of this guy. Legendary! I whole-heartedly recommend this book to anybody with an appreciation of good children's literature and hilarious adventure...

2.0 out of 5 stars Why so popular?
I bought this book for my 6 y/o son, after hearing about it on the radio compared to Calvin and Hobbes, and seeing the great reviews on amazon. While there is nothing really wrong with the book, I was expecting more content, like multi-panel pages like a comic book. This is really a picture book for 2-3 year olds. Perhaps if that's what I was expecting, I would have...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wide appeal, February 6, 2007
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
The storyline and illustrations are simple and engaging enough to capture the attention of small children. Yet its wit and humor will entertain adults and teenagers as well. Wonderful and witty illustrations. I eagerly await the next in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter and I BOTH love this book, October 9, 2007
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
I have always loved children's books and even as an adult I accumulated a decent collection of books that I thought were enjoyable. Once I had children of my own I was eager to share my books with them only to find that most of the humor goes right over their heads. I was so excited when I checked this book out at the library and discovered that it not only made me laugh, but my 5YO daughter as well! It is easy to read and the pictures are adorable with several "comic book" talk/thought bubbles to go along with the story. This is truly a great read for kids and parents alike! (As soon as I am done writing this review, I am ordering the second Max and Pinky book which is the real reason I logged onto Amazon today.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Done!, August 3, 2007
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
This book was a riot! I laughed; I cried; I crossed my fingers hoping that the next one would be released sooner. It is clearly great for children, but their adult counterparts will enjoy it as well. The author effectively uses a dry subtle humor that is very engaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three Silly Chicks Review, October 1, 2007
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
Reviewed by Three Silly Chicks - Readers, Writers, and Reviewers of funny books for kids.

Max and Pinky are best friends. Max is a boy. Pinky is a pig. (An odd pair, you say? Frankly, we can't figure out why there aren't more stories about boy/pig friendships.) One day, on Adventure Saturday, Max can't find Pinky anywhere. Max worries that Pinky might have been taken away by a gang of crazed bunnies. (We often have this same fear when we can't find something.) Fortunately, the rear end of a polar bear reminds Max of the snack food Pinky loves so dearly. Max hurries to Pinky's not-so-secret stash and finds his pal happily pigging out on marshmallows. Phew! All is well in their world (and ours!) once again.

We love the quirkiness of this story. (Pigs, polar bears and marshmallows? Hey, it works for us!) The simple illustrations and straightforward text will appeal to three and four year-olds. We hear there will be more adventures with Max and Pinky, and we couldn't be happier!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sooper-Dooper!, September 6, 2007
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
My girlfriend made me buy this literature for our friends' young child- boy do I wish I bought it sooner! I just hope that someday I get to meet this clever Maxwell character- if at the very least to shake his hand. I've cleared a space on my mahogany bookshelf for the entire collection! Buy one for yourself, and one for every aspiring child you know!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Children's Book Ever!, December 22, 2009
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
This book is unparalleled. The irreverent humor and colorful pictures make it fun for adults and kids alike. It's a careful balance and executed flawlessly by Mr. Eaton. Can't wait for newer installments of the series to be released. There should be a Max and Pinky Saturday morning cartoon. Huge fan. Keep up the great work, Maxwell Eaton III.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive!, November 13, 2008
This review is from: The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds (Hardcover)
What a wonderfully refreshing book & series! My 3 1/2 year old son and I both find them incredibly amusing. My son is so taken with Max and Pinky that he has me tell him a new Max and Pinky story each night before bed. My stories aren't nearly as good as Mr. Eaton's, however. Hooray for Max and Pinky!

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend!, September 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great book about friendship. Funny for kids. Adults will get a kick out of little comments made by animals. When Max asks a horse if he's seen Pinky, the horse says, "Isn't he usually with some bald kid?" In the end it's about forgiveness and not taking things personally. Fantastic.
