Meera was born and raised in rural Missouri but has written a great deal about places she's lived and visited in the world. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area on a farmette where she keeps an organic garden, an orchard, chickens, and cares for two Jacobian sheep. She and her spouse are renovating their 1947 cottage.
She loves reading mysteries as well as literary novels and women's fiction. Her favorite nonfiction topics include history, music, mythology, religion and spirituality, science and the environment, art, biography, and gardening.
She is internationally published and has written more than two dozen books on topics ranging from history, lifestyle, early Christianity, travel, health, interior design, and pique assiette mosaics. An avid traveler, she's been to 29 countries and four continents. Most recently, she wrote Sacred Travels to showcase 275 of the world's holiest and spiritually energized sacred sites. Meera credits many of them for providing a place for her to give expression to her own soulful yearnings and to gain spiritual insights.
