LINDA PURL stars as Nellie Bly, the determined young journalist whose amazing nose for news made international headlines at the turn of the 20th Century. Arriving in New York in 1887, Nellie is turned away from every newspaper in town, until her undercover expose of the city's sweatshops lands her a job at Pulitzer's New York World. From her post there, Nellie attacks injustice and corruption through her investigative reporting. Exposing a rash of political payoffs, an immigrant slavery ring, and the nightmarish conditions of the city's asylums, Nellie learns that making headlines can also mean making enemies.
