This TV series featured handsome Gardner McKay as Adam Troy, the captain of a free-lance schooner plying the South Pacific in search of passengers, cargo and adventure. Troy was a Korean War veteran who had found the Pacific to his liking, His schooner, the TIKI, ranged across the area of adventures, schemers and island beauties. Why the studios have never bothered to put this out on TV or DVD beats me. Rumor has it the James A. Michener estate fights against it because they don't believe the scripts meet to the style one would expect from such an eminent author. If this is true, shame on the Michener estate.

The book has plenty of photos and a number from the back lot of 20th Century Fox which reveals just how much was accomplished with minimum of sets. Interviews with cast and crew are highlighted. Episode guide and history of the series is also a nice touch. Enjoyable read and recommended.

I watched Adventures in Paradise as a young woman, now I watch the shows I can

still remember, as an older woman. the book gave me a lot more insight into the young man (Gardner Mckay)whom I along many many others had a huge crush on.

I enjoyed how it all came together. Thankyou for writing it and for the photos, I

really enjoyed reading this book.

This convinced me not to buy any of the TV series videos. It is well researched and has a lot of behind the scenes information. After hearing the refrain from a Jimmy Buffett song, "..hey hey Gardner McKay.." I now know who he was and what the progrm on TV was.
