I got lucky and snagged an imported copy of this a couple months before it became available here in the US. Ever since then I've been waiting for it to be released here so I can recommend it to my readers on my blog.Simply said, this is the best radio drama I've ever experienced. It's brilliant. The writing, the directing, the voice acting, the comedic timing, all of them wonderful. If you want more of how I feel about it, you can see me gush in enthusiastic detail on my blog. If you want to hear a swordfight at the top of a zeppelin between an intrepid champion of justice and a malevolent, brilliant villain, this is the audio play you have been waiting for. This show is simply a treasure: an incredibly witty script, preformed at such a breakneck speed that you have to listen a second time to catch all the hilarity. Pitch-perfect old school sound effects that instantly and immediately set the scene, whether it's a careening train or a quiet cup of tea. Music that does an equally good job of instantly and precisely setting the tone. But most of all, it is so packed with sheer FUN that it is scientifically impossible to hear for 5 minutes without grinning from ear to ear. This is what all the silly adventures of yesterday dreamed of being, powered by all the quality storytelling, writing and effects that contemporary English money can afford.

I've listened to this a few times now, on flights and just walking about. This is one of those rare audio presentations that is so deliciously packed with subtle comments that I get something new out of it at each listening. Please, BBC, oh please, give us "The Further Adventures of Sexton Blake", or "More Adventures of Sexton Blake", or something.
