Now, for me, no one will ever rival Clive Merrison as the greatest radio Holmes of all time, but these episodes are quite good. John Stanley, an American, born and raised in London, performs as Holmes, with Alfred Shirley appearing as Dr. Watson. They appeared on Sunday nights on the Mutual Radio Network, from New York. The Clippercraft men's clothing store was the main advertiser. 12 Episodes as above listed make for a six hour total play time. I believe the episodes are from 1947-48. It's not Rathbone and Bruce, but for a Holmes junkie, it is high entertainment. I liked "The Cadaver In The Roman Toga" best. Written, quite creatively, by Edith Meissner, one out of every three episodes is based on an actual Conan Doyle shortstory. (oh, and you gotta love that organ music intro...)

These are all good Radio type programs with original commercials, good quality, nice to go to sleep to. If you want this type of entertainment without the organ music and commercials it's more tricky to obtain.
