The world-famous crime-solving duo Holmes and Watson are on sterling form in this excellent compilation of six unabridged adventures. Included in the third volume of the audio collection read by famed actor Edward Hardwicke are: "A Scandal in Bohemia," which inspired the Guy Richie-directed Sherlock Holmes film starring Robert Downey Junior; "Silver Blaze,"in which a racehorse disappears on the eve of an important meet and its trainer appears to have been murdered; "The Adventure of the Copper Beeches," in which a young woman agrees to a governess post with an impressive salary but strange conditions; as well as "The Adventure of the Priory School," "The Red-Headed League," and "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle."
Sir Arthur Conan Doylewas a Scottish physician and writer whose stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes have become known as classic. Edward Hardwickeis an accomplished British actor. He played Dr. Watson in a United Kingdom television series for eight years, as well as on stage in 1989.

Edward Hardwicke replaced David Burke as the second Watson to Jeremy Brett's seminal Sherlock Holmes on the BBC Granada television series. His portrayal of Watson was warm, authentic, arguably the best Watson of any time.
Here Mr. Hardwicke performs an additional six canon adventures of Sherlock Holmes. This is not a mere reading, but a well crafted performance of the stories by a gifted actor. While there are many audio adaptations of Conan-Doyle's Holmes, this is by far the best I've had the privelege to listen to. Mr. Hardwicke imbues the stories with new life and energy, astounds and enthralls us just as the mysteries themselves do.
