Format: Hardcover
It is a typical early 80s book with a great charm. Some of the things said in the book may no longer be relevant in the current era, where there is lot of evidence emerging that many if not most of the birds mentioned in the book are proven to be unsuitable as companion animals for the typical household.

Nevertheless a very good book for its era; the chapter 8 'Polly want a craker?' in particular was heart warming espcially the part leading to the description of Mrs Curtis - Quote " Human beings would be living at a higher ethical if Mrs Curtis's sensitivity towards the rest of creation was more universal." I had the opportunity to read this book at the library of the Wildlife Institute of India. I wish it is made available as an ebook for the benefit of all bird enthusiasts. Would be useful even for those involved in bird rescue.
