Can you keep a secret?,
This review is from: Adventures of the Red Tape Gang (Paperback)
This was one of my favorite books when I was a kid. When a group of kids notice that their neighborhood has some problems that have not been solved because there is too much "red tape" involved, they decide to take matters into their own hands and quietly correct the problems themselves. However, their attempts to fix things turn out to be anything but quiet. Parts of the book are a little on the unbelievable side, but the descriptions of the gang's attempts at some handyman work on a (supposedly) abandoned house and some midnight landscaping (for lack of a better term) are hilarious. It's all fun and games for the kids at first, but then, they discover that their neighborhood contains more serious problems than they originally thought. Their activities are also starting to come to the attention of the wrong people. The solution to these problems could have disasterous consequences for one member of the group.

A good read,

I had this book as a kid and recently read my old copy to my two daughters, age 8 & 9. We all really enjoyed it and we went online to see if there was ever a sequel. After seeing the 1 star review, my daughters insisted on us writing a review. The writing style in this book is from the perspective of a 12 year old boy and we think, it was well done. It's not Harry Potter, but it's definitely entertaining.
My 9 year old said the book was very suspenseful and she was always disappointed when we had to stop reading for he night. She was always wondering what would happen next. (Most kids books don't talk about criminals like this one does.) My 8 year old says she likes how the kids in the book were trying to help out.

This review is from: The Adventures of the Red Tape Gang (An Apple Paperback) (Paperback)
This books is SO BORING, it's not a surprise that it has fallen out of print. This book was so bad, reading it made my feet fall asleep. I'm sure we can forgive the author, but not the expense of buying a copy of this pathetic refuse. It didn't even make good compost. If you want to read something that is absolutely, astonishingly, perfectly bad, search out a used copy of this book.
