We read this book out loud before bed and both my 7 and 10 year old loved it.

A great read for young kids, especially sisters, but good for any young readers, boys or girls, only children or kids with lots of siblings.

I love finding books that have just the right combination of action, reality, humor, and imagination. I read Tempest and Serena to my granddaughters - one who happens to be Miss Adventurous and one who happens to approach life with a bit more caution. This book kept them both enthralled. We read the story outside on a cool summer's evening, snuggling on chaise lounges and reading by flashlight. Wonderful memory makers, books like this. Now I have to order my own copy since I promised this one as a gift to the girls.

Whimsical, but so endearing that it's believable--reminiscent of "My Father's Dragon." I'm a mother to two girls under six and, while picture books are great, we are always looking for a chapter book to fill our bedtime reading needs. While it's a book probably written with older kids in mind, it fits the bill perfectly for us--exciting with manageable chapter lengths and cute illustrations.

While the story is fun and easy for an attention-span-challenged kid to follow, it quietly presents ethical challenges, choices and solutions. The importance of family and sisterhood. The value of experiencing different cultures. The joys and downfalls of hopping the fence to eat the greener grass. Facing and conquering our greatest fears.

Fabulous work, and it's good for boys and girls. I'll be buying this one for the nieces and nephews. Can't wait to see more!

We read this book out loud before bed and both my 7 and 10 year old loved it. Marty Banks has created fun, likable characters in Tempest and Serena. We enjoyed each new adventure and comparing the personalities of the two girls - great for siblings to see that everyone is an original!

My daughter doesn't enjoy reading. We read this together for a book report and she enjoyed the story. Tempest and Serena is an easy read with a lot of fun adventures.

My grand girls loved this fast moving adventure of fourth grade twin sisters, Tempest and Serena. On the first day of school Tempest rebels and wishes for summer to last forever. With the help of a magic flashlight, she sprouts wings and flies off leaving Serena to defend her empty seat on the bus and in the lunchroom.

This delightful chapter book illustrates the bond between sisters, bullying, loneliness, and the thrill of around the world fantasies. From Hawaii to Hong Kong, it's nonstop fun and adventure. I enjoyed the book just as much as the girls did - can't wait for Volume 2.
