About the Author

When the Master known as Saint Germain materialized before Peter Mt. Shasta in Muir Woods his life was forever changed. Although offered liberation, he chose to remain and serve the Masters in their mission of preparing humanity for the coming changes. Consequently, he was sent to a woman in Mount Shasta by the name of Pearl for instruction. His training led him not only to inner retreats, but also into the world of business and film making in Hollywood. As Carl Marsak says in the Foreword, "Time and again the Masters force him to integrate the profoundest spiritual teachings into daily human life-often with hilarious and/or poignant results".

More About the Author

Struggling to awaken from the dream of materialism, Peter journeyed to the Far East. In India he spent time with Ram Dass and his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, eventually traveling to the Himalayan foothills to live briefly with Gongotri Baba, a disciple of Babaji. Later he traveled to Tibet and Egypt, but did not find his true path until Sathya Sai Baba instructed him to meditate on the I AM Consciousness--where all paths become one. After returning from the East, the Ascended Master known as Saint Germain, initiator of the Aquarian Age, materialized before him in Muir Woods, near San Francisco, and told him to go to Mount Shasta where he would meet the teacher. This was Pearl Dorris, a former assistant to Godfre Ray King (author of "Unveiled Mysteries"). Vowing to accomplish the training that was offered and become Saint Germain's apprentice, he went through years of instruction and experiences with the Masters, who occasionally appeared in physical form. These adventures are described in his latest book, "Adventures of a Western Mystic: Apprentice to the Masters." Format: Paperback
20 years ago Peter Mt. Shasta unexpectedly came into my life at a time I was searching for Truth and spiritual guidance. He recommended I begin my quest with his book I AM the Open Door and Guy Ballard's Unveiled Mysteries of the St. Germain Series. I then became a student of the I AM Instructions of the Ascended Masters, and I went through profound and sometimes very trying experiences because of that choice. Just recently I was again prompted to find and request guidance from Peter as if to answer my intensifying desire to be shown how to proceed on the conscious path. Peter's book, Adventures of a Western Mystic, gives one a deeper understanding of what is required of us to make spiritual progress and how the Ascended Masters, although not known to us on a conscious level, use every day experiences as opportunities for learning lessons, to pass tests and initiations, purify and harmonize ourselves and ascend in consciousness, and prompt us to invoke and expand the Love, Wisdom, and Power of our Mighty I AM Presence through the God Flame upon the alter of our hearts to express It's full Perfection, Authority, and Dominion in our beings, worlds, and affairs. We tend to make spiritual matters complicated, mysterious, and supernatural, and we idolize those who have transcendent experiences believing they may not be attainable by us. Peter, by taking us along part of his journey toward Mastery and future Ascension, makes the path real, tangible, understandable, and feel possible for those of us who choose to be obedient to Cosmic Law and make the necessary self-corrections. God bless you Peter for letting us tarry with you on your path for a while. We will be forever changed by it. To you, my elder brother, and the Ascended Masters I send my eternal love and gratitude for your selfless service to humanity.

Through a series of circumstances I was led to this book, and then beyond. Once I started reading I could hardly put this book down. Peter shares his most personal experiences and feelings in a way the reader feels a part of his incredible journey. Peter's book led me to discover "The Mighty I Am Presence" and set me on my own journey of spiritual enlightenment. Peter's book is a good, fun read, but also one from which many, many rewards can follow. Anyone would be so blessed to read Peter's book. As an aside, after reading Peter's book I have come to know Peter personally, and as I expected, I found Peter to be a truly wonderful and very spiritual person, inside and out.

Format: Paperback
This autobiographical account chronicles the challenging and thrilling real-life events of a sincere truthwalker as he deepens into the fearlessness necessary to fully surrender his life to Divine guidance. With tremendous insight and humility he exposes the internal tugs-of-war that one experiences when confronted with the choice of whether to follow the external "real world" traps of habit, or to completely trust the calling of the Master (whether the master appears 'outside' oneself, or as a voice from within the heart) in response to ALL of life's circumstances, no matter how daunting the call! One of the great surprises of this book is its abundant humor: the author's bold willingness to expose limited personal projections in light of the bigger picture, partnered with a skillfully engaging narrative style, results in countless laugh-out-loud moments... along with as much non-stop intrigue and suspense as a 007 novel! Radiating abundant grace and wisdom, Peter Mt. Shasta offers a rare gem to anyone with a mind and heart open enough to fully engage themselves in these stories. Thank you Peter!

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful By R. Young on April 17, 2010
Format: Paperback
Adventures of a Western Mystic certainly has the potential to be a classic book, in the same mold as Autobiography of a Yogi, the personal story of Yogananda, or Search for the Miraculous, the meticulous biography of Gurgieff.

It is, first and foremost, a page-turner adventure story, that takes the reader on an adventure stretching from Mt. Shasta, to a magnificent chateau on the shores of Lake Louise in Canada, to Tel Aviv, then to Athens, and from there to an encounter with Shirley McClaine in Beverly Hills.

But the story detailed in the printed word on the page is not the real message of the book. True to all classics, there is a secret message here, and that is developing the mind to a heroic state of discipline and refinement to tap into a powerful Jungian archetype, the Ascended Master. It is a story of the immense power of unrelenting prayer and gratitude at the result of prayer answered. Peter finds his way out of virtual starvation in Athens, for example, through his prayers and faith in the power of his Master. He creates income for himself out of nothing, all through guidance from hidden sources. In his adventures, he confronts everything from being lost in the bone numbing cold of the far North to surviving an encounter with a sinister alien masquerading as a "trance channeler" catering to Hollywood personalities.

It is a "must read" for initiates into the fascinating world of metaphysics and seasoned guides who think they have read everything and know all the answers. Peter Mt. Shasta comes up with more than a few new wrinkles that open up new horizons for his readers.
