This review is from: Adventures of a White Collar Man (Hardcover)
Having read a borrowed version of this book from my father-in-law, I wanted a copy to keep. Understanding that it was a book printed some 50-odd years ago, I was somewhat skeptical I'd be able to find it, however I was pleasantly surprised. The book was advertised as in "excellent" condition and upon receipt, I would say it was in very good condition. I suppose "excellent" based on the fact that it was over 50 years old since print. Overall, pleased with its quality. I would recommend this site.
The book itself does an excellent job of detailing the birth of General Motors from a timeframe when cars were being invented by a myriad of independent inventors and manufacturers. The storyline recaps Alfred P. Sloan Jr's start in the working world of the late 1800's and tracks the changes in the auto industry through to the consolidated conglomeration of General Motors in the 1940's. A very worthwhile and interesting read. |
