Great challenges for the advanced woodworker,
By Mauricio "Weekend Woodworker" (East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Adventures in Woodturning: Techniques and Projects (Paperback)
When I first saw the book I was dissapointed by the first projects I saw. The projects advance in complexity through the book from a secret box to a chess set to off centered turning and it finishes with a detailed description on how to build an ingenious chuck for oval turning in order to do some small oval projects. The principles explained can be used for many other projects and it open many possibilities in ornamental turning for those who don't want to spend thousands of dollars in an ornamental lathe. These projects can be done in a regular lathe by an advanced woodturner. This is not a book for a beginner.

This book is full of projects that will build your turning skills. Easy to follow instructions, lots of pictures, tips and full of great info for making holding devices. Highly recommended. Also recommended Woodturning Trickery, Woodturning Full Circle and Woodturning Wizardry all by David Springett. All have easy to follow detailed instructions.
