5.0 out of 5 stars Coon reflects at the end of his life, July 17, 2005
This review is from: Adventures and discoveries: The autobiography of Carleton S. Coon (Hardcover)
You cannot understand Coon until you've read his autobiography written a year before he died. Aside from being entertaining, this retrospective work gives added insight into how soundly Coon reflected on his legacy; his errors and his successes. He definitely feels that race stydy has been politicized by liberals and that this kind of thing really helps the Racists more than hurts them. He also reminds everyone that his books were widely quoted in the Eastern Bloc, by anti-racist, anti-nazi governments and educational institutions. You can not understand Coon fully until you're read his last words. That is what this book represents. If you haven't been misled into thinking that 'races don't exist' and have come across Coon before, his autobiography is a good choice.
