And she prepares the reader well, with gentle do's and do not's, and with very helpful lists: what equipment the adults should take, what children's clothing to include, which of their toys, and how many books. She tells us what she has gleaned while camping, hiking, bicycling, sailing, and canoeing with children from young toddlers, even to teenagers on four continents. All of it is instructive. While the Jeffreys' idea of adventure travel may not be everyone's fantasy of what to do for your summer vacation, their beliefs of what can be experienced adventuring as a family are inspiring.
